Thomas Cook and Victorian Tourism
Thomas Cook pioneered the organized tour holiday. He
founded his international travel company in 1841, and by
1873 had organised and led the first round-the-world tour.
Join Paul Smith, archivist at Thomas Cook, to discover more
about the development of the modern travel industry.
This is a free event - donations welcome.

We would like to give Philip Miles and his team a huge vote
of thanks for what was a really superb afternoon at Buckden
Festival. There was something for everyone to enjoy, includ-
ing plenty of amusements to keep the children - both young
and old - very happy. It takes many hours of hard work to
organise such an event and the team excelled themselves
this year. Our sincere thanks to all those involved.
Definitely the best Buckden Festival to date.
