Parish Council Photo Competition
The Parish Council Photo Competition, which was part of the Buckden Village Festival weekend, was most successful
this year, with almost 100 entries over 3 age groups. Thank you to all those who entered – the standard was very
high. Many of you will have seen the display of photos in the Village Hall on Saturday, 1
st
July, which also included
examples of Roundabout covers.

Cycling on paths
Could we please remind all cyclists of the dangers of cycling on pavements and footpaths, including the paths around
the recreation field. Such behaviour is very risky for pedestrians, especially small children and older people. If you
must cycle on paths – and we would prefer it if you didn’t – please do so with care and consideration for others.
Parents – please could you have a word with your children about this.
And finally…..
August 2017 marks the last month that John Chase will be working as our Parish Clerk before his very well-earned
retirement. We’re sure that all residents would like to join Parish Councillors and staff in thanking John for all his
dedication, skills, knowledge and sheer hard work over the years that he has held this role.
We all wish Georgina West, our new Parish Clerk, all good luck and best wishes in her new role.

September

Parish Council’s Planning Committee
will meet on
Tuesday 8th and Tuesday 22nd August
starting
7pm. Agendas for the meetings are posted on the Parish Council notice boards not later than the Saturday preced-
ing the meeting.
