Buckden - a Huntingdonshire Village

PB1.1.1 The entrance to Buckden on the Great North Road. The magnificent trees on the left were in the grounds of Ivelbury House adjacent to the Vine public house. The first building on the left had been the Windmill public house. Photograph c.1935. From the Coates Collection with permission of Wisbech & Fenland Museum PB1.1.2 High Street 2008. More telephones but no wires on poles with cross bars which were so prominent along main roads and railways. The magnificent trees have gone either by saw or Dutch elm disease.
