Not a member of Cambridgeshire libraries?... not a problem – we can sign you up for a membership card too. This year ’ s theme is Gadgeteers and is all about discovering the amazing science and innovation behind the world around us, including some of our favourite things! Lego - tastic! You know we love Lego at Buckden library – but grand scale Lego builder Mike Addis takes it to a whole new level! Mike has appeared in national newspapers and on TV with his amaz- ing creations – the Anglo - Saxon long hall currently on display in the library is one of his builds. To go with our Summer Reading Challenge theme, Mike will be with us on Wednesday 17 August with a Lego workshop for kids and adults of all ages. Amongst other building projects Mike will be helping us design and make balloon powered cars, with a bit of a competition to see whose will travel the fur- thest. Design and make on your own, or as a team, using the entire library space for this exclusive event. Mike will bring with him his huge stock of Lego to make sure everyone has what they need to turn their imagination into reality! Advance booking is essential for this event. Initially, timed tick- ets are available for 11am and 12.30pm but further times may be released nearer the date to make sure no one is disappoint- ed.
