Village Hall, Burberry Road, Buckden Tel: 0345 045 5225 www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/library Here at Preschool, we are still taking stringent precau- tions and constantly assessing our room layouts and rou- tines to ensure we ’ re keeping our staff, children and families as safe as possible during this third lockdown. Most of our children are attending and we have wel- comed some new starters. The children have been very busy training to be vets in our veterinary corner, taking the temperatures of their animal patients and bandaging poorly puppy paws! They ’ ve also been enjoying making penguins and snowflakes as part of our winter theme, and investigating different textures in our messy and sensory play trays. This term we ’ ve introduced some new phonics activities and a maths workbook looking at shapes, numbers and categorising objects. Some of the children are also starting on level 1 reading books. We ’ ve started a ‘ book of the week ’ scheme, too, with activities focused on the story and its themes. Moving forward, we will be introducing forest school activities and continuing with tasks designed to strength- en the children ’ s fine motor skills using playdough. We hope everyone is staying safe and well. Committee enquiries: contact Jo Chillmaid (Chairperson) at buckdenpreschoolchairperson@gmail.com or on 07393650084. We have been overwhelmed by the array of cards and flowers that have arrived at the door. It is heartening to know just how many people have such warm and fond memories of Mike.
