As ever we are very grateful. We are looking for more photos and paintings of any kind that we could use as a front cover. We especially need photos and paintings of autumn scenes, and of events in the village. We should be grateful for photos (or even paintings!) of the coro- nation celebrations in the village. Please note that photos should ideally be in portrait format and should be a minimum of 2400 x 1700 pixels. More is better! Despite some works taking place last year, Taylors Lane again began to flood. Only the action of the householders, neigh- bours and people from across the village turning to help pre- vented another disaster! As I understand it, it took an all - night effort to ensure no serious damage was done. We join the affected residents in thanking those who assisted in any way and wholeheartedly applaud the great spirit of community shown in such trying circumstances! Despite a couple of days without rain, many of the local roads are still impassable and those living in Buckden Marina are particularly affected, Fortunately it appears that the waters are at last starting to recede. As well as all the usual information and events in the edition this month, we have several interesting articles rearding histo- ry, nature and walking - so hopefully something to appeal to many of you. On page 12 there is an article about hares; page 11 has some great information about the many footpaths in and around the village; there is a fascinating article on Buckden Towers and insurance on page 13; and on page 15 there is an insight into how street names were decided on for the Bloor Homes development. Please remember to visit the Roundabout website. As well as every edition from 2013 onwards available to see, there are often articles there that we could not fit into the print edition, as well as information that arrives during the month.
