Further information appears on the www.huntingdonshire.gov.uk/healthwalks website MONDAY CLUB We are a social group of ladies who meet fortnightly at 2.30pm in the Millard Suite at Buckden Village Hall. At each meeting we either have a guest speaker or partici- pate in an activity of our own. We then enjoy a cup of tea and biscuits, and participate in a raffle. 10 January Comedy, Songs and Readings by Rex Freeman 24 January Lunch at The Vine Why not come and join us? It will now be a week earlier on Thursday 20th January at the Scout Hut at 8pm. We will hold our Annual Presentation Evening, follow- ing our successful wine show in November which attracted 49 bottles of wines and liqueurs. NEW MEMBERS ARE WELCOME to join a lively sociable group where help and advice on wine and beer making are freely given. Visitors are welcome to join us. For further information contact Ann Elliott 01480 810346 Buckden Local History Society 5th January Alcock and Brown by Terry Hayward Terry will describe the epic flight of British aviators John Alcock and Arthur Brown, who made the first ever non - stop transatlantic flight in June 1919. Using a modified First World War Vickers Vimy bomber they flew from St. John's, Newfoundland, to Clifden, County Galway, Ire- land. New members and visitors welcome. Entry will be £5 per person and will include a glass of wine and nibbles. Quizzers are invited to bring their own refresh- ments, as well, if required. There will also be a raffle and a Heads and Tails competition, so please bring a little extra cash for those. Prizes will be available for the winning team! Please remember that all our proceeds go to support the upkeep of the beautiful, and unique, Buckden Towers build- ings .
