We hope you ’ ve spotted our new Dona- tion Box to the right of the gate. Our old box came away from the brick wall so we have planted the new box into the fig tree bed. We are very grateful to Dave from Merchant Steel Solutions in Hun- tingdon for donating the pole, welding and painting. Thank you for continuing to use the QR code on the notice by the Knot Garden gate. We have paused our plant rehoming for the time being but hope to reintroduce it in the Spring in the warmer weather. The Knot Gardeners are still working in the garden through the winter as long as the weather is fine and not too cold. We are already making plans for the new season and have earmarked funds for 2 standard bay trees to replace the two in tubs by the terrace that suddenly died last summer and replacing the tall box bush in the corner of the lamb bed which was severely damaged by Box Moth caterpillars last summer. We need to keep a careful watch for the caterpillars and act quickly as the weather warms up. The box plants that were damaged by the box caterpillars are showing new leaf growth, we shall add box feed in the spring to encourage the new growth. A successful Tea Party for the over 65s was held in the Village Hall on 9th December. Many thanks to Sue at the Vine who provided the delicious food and to all those who helped out on the day. Special thanks to the children from Buckden School who started off the event with singing and dancing, which was much appreciated.
