July 2020

18 Buckden Roundabout July2020 FRIENDS IN DEED Friends in Deed is a voluntary group offering support to Buckden residents. There are times in our lives when we could all do with a little extra support or companion- ship whatever our age or circumstances. With the Covid - 19 pandemic still dominating all our lives and the news at the moment. Friends in Deed have had to adapt and adjust like everybody. • Our co - ordinator is working closely with the Parish Council in delivering their Covid - 19 Volunteer Support initiative for the village; ours is one of the three con- tact numbers available to those needing support whilst self - isolating. • Our visitors have become “ telephoners ”, maintaining phone contact and support to those they would nor- mally visit. Whilst we cannot currently visit, we can still provide support over the phone and can try to point you in the right direction for the help you need. • Our drivers are providing a new “ click & collect ” collec- tion service. They can pick - up prepaid 'Click and Col- lect' orders from any of the local town stores (Huntingdon and St Neots) and deliver to your door for a fixed fee - £3. You need to provide at least 24 hours notice. Just call 07810 006598 and we will endeavour to meet your needs. • The Community Café and our other social activities are on hold for the moment but we look forward to wel- coming you again when we can do so safely. Once again, let us celebrate the community spirit of our lovely village where so many have pulled together to support one other. Please continue to follow the official guidance and keep safe. If you do need help or if you would like to join us in providing help to others, please call our co - ordinator, Angie, on 07810 006598.
