It is still early stages but the cycle access from Buckden to Hinchingbrooke is now on the priority list for Cycle Paths in Cambridgeshire! I will keep on lobbying and keeping my fingers crossed. Hamish Masson (Continued from page 5) From Your District Councillor (continued) Coming in next month ’ s Roundabout Buckden resident Keith Lawrence designed and managed the build of a new school house in Kenya for orphaned children, and the inspiring story of his work there will feature in next month ’ s edition. Two young Kenyan teachers were running a school for 68 chil- dren orphaned by the AIDS pandemic on an island in Lake Vic- toria. When their schoolhouse was destroyed by a hurricane in 2017, they turned to their UK friend David Bale for help, and he provided the funds for them to buy some land in memory of his wife who had recently died. Keith met David and offered to carry out the design work for the school building. This resulted in Keith making three trips to Kenya to assess the plot and to oversee the building work. The series of planned articles will follow Keith on these adventures.
