For further details please contact Jon Magee on 01480 700810 Jubilee celebration There have been so many Jubilee celebrations in the locality I am sure many of us found it difficult to keep track of where everything was happening. However, all of us, I am sure, ap- preciate the opportunity to have fun and a chance of cele- brating life with each other. For those of us in Perry Baptist church we would like to say a big thank you to all who came and shared our events with us. Like others we did enjoy the community events on the Thurs- day and Friday of the Jubilee weekend. On the Saturday the party continued as we had Tea on the Church Green. We invit- ed all in the community to a FREE tea/coffee along with sand- wiches and cakes. Cakes always sound good and many of you must agree. We advertised it was available from 10 am till 3pm, and the crowds came! Just before 2pm, however, the weather seemed to be putting a damper on everything, so we began packing thingss up. No, that was not the end of it all as the people continued to come despite the weather, so Tea on the Green merged into tea in the church building. Thank you for the friendships that continue to be made. Sunday 5 th June the celebrations continued with a Jubilee Thanks Giving service. So pleased to see so many visitors com- ing, including our newly elected Councillor, Stephen Cawley and his wife Karen, who read a portion of scripture for us. The tea was such a success that we have decided to have tea on the green on the 3 rd Saturday of the month during summer. See you all soon
