The mowing of the lawns on Greenway, swapping daisy - covered beautifulness for yellow, scraped and scuffed grass would be discussed as well. I hope we can strike a balance on our mowing as these places looked particularly lovely and good for mind and soul in this difficult spring for us all. There ’ s still lots to see at the moment. Swifts seem scarce in the Parish which is sad but some are back, screaming away and up to three Cuckoos are still vocal in the Ouse Valley and on the Roundabout Buckden Walk. Look for dragonflies and dam- selflies by the river, including the Scarce Chaser and families of Kingfishers of which I ’ ve found two nest holes this spring. I saw White - legged Damselflies (a scarce species) by the river in mid - May – the first I ’ d seen in the Parish. I also understand lucky residents saw a Ring - necked Parakeet in a few places in May but sadly I wasn ’ t lucky.
