11 Buckden Roundabout June 2021 For Your Diary Huntingdonshire Health Walk Scheme JUNE 2021 Although COVID restrictions have been partially relaxed, the scheme is still bound by the following limitations: - a. It will still be necessary to pre - book* your attend- ance within 7 days of the walk, b. A face mask must continue to be worn at the "meet - and - greet" stage, although it can be removed during the walk; c. Care must be still be taken to ensure distancing is accepta- ble/reasonable. Please ensure that clothing and footwear are adequate for weather conditions, and that you have a small bottle of water to avoid dehydration. There is now only one walk per week, which is on Wednesdays starting at 2pm; June's programme is: - • 2nd: Alconbury Saunter, from the Alconbury Sports Club, North Road, Alconbury • 9th: Buckden Ramble, from the Buckden Village Hall, Bur- berry Road • 16th: Grafham Lakeside, from the Cinnamon Restaurant, Breach Road, Grafham • 23rd: Hinchingbrooke Ramble, from the cafe at the Country Park • 30th: Wyton Wander, from Dobbies Garden Centre, Hun- tingdon Road, Huntingdon. * Pre - book via www.oneleisure.net OR via the One Leisure app under "Community Activities", OR telephone the call centre on 01480 388111 . MONDAY CLUB We are a social group of ladies who meet fortnightly at 2.30pm in the Millard Suite at Buckden Village Hall. At each meeting we either have a guest speaker or partici- pate in an activity of our own. We then enjoy a cup of tea and biscuits, and participate in a raffle. As long as it is deemed safe, we feel it is time to resume Monday Club meetings in July. Betty and I are looking for- ward to seeing you all again for an informal chat and a cup of tea. Activity meetings will be arranged in due course. We wel- come new members – just turn up at 2.30pm on Monday 5th July in the Millard Suite of the Village Hall. We may need masks so please bring one along. We are pleased to announce an outdoor Picnic at the Chair- man ’ s house on Sunday 13th June at 2pm NEW MEMBERS ARE WELCOME to join a lively sociable group where help and advice on wine and beer making are freely given. Visitors are welcome to join us. For further information contact Ann Elliott 01480 810346 Buckden Gardeners Association GARDEN VISIT (members only) Dave and Valerie Bunnage ’ s garden 23A Perry Road Meet by the Scout Hut at 1.40pm on Tuesday 22nd June. The garden is part of the National Garden Scheme and has many quirky and unusual gardens interlinked by gravel paths (people with mobility issues may have difficulty negotiating the paths). Some gardens are quirky and unusual and others have a strong Japanese influence. Cost £4.00 per person. Prior booking essential: - Money, name and contact details to be given to the Chairman at 31, Lucks Lane by the 15th June. Compost and growbags are still available to purchase from the shed in Silver Street. Please contact the treasurer. The Chairman, Barry Jobling, will be talking on the Lucks Lane archaeological work and the plans for a display in the Village Hall. Visitors and new mem- bers are very welcome. Children are free to all talks.
