6 Buckden Roundabout June 2021 Buckden Neighbourhood Watch NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH LAUNCHES PROTECT YOUR CAR CAMPAIGN PROTECT YOUR CAR! LEAVE IT: 1. LOCKED Lock your car when you leave the vehicle. 2. LIT Park in a well - lit area or in the garage locking the gar- age door. 3. EMPTY Hide any items on show which have value. It is a crime on the rise in Cambridgeshire. One car is stolen every ten minutes. You may think your car is too old and no one will bother steal- ing it. This is incorrect as sometimes the car is stolen to be used in another crime. Having a car stolen or broken into is more than simply a has- sle, it can impact on people ’ s livelihoods. Please be vigilant. There are opportunists who try a car door on the off - chance the owner forgets to lock the car door, the thief steals items in the vehicle or the car. Theft of and from motor vehicles is a crime we can help to reduce. Vehicle crime can cost us dearly in damage to the ve- hicle, a great deal of inconvenience and increased insurance premiums. Over half of all car crime is carried out by the opportunist thief, so do not give criminals an easy ride. MAKE IT TOUGH TO REMOVE YOUR STUFF.
