On day 1 it was glorious sunshine. A sunny, warm day perfect for a barbecue. Sadly, on day 2, it was grey and rained most of the day - but at least that meant there were less excuses for abandoning my editing tasks! The weather will be play a crucial part in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations planned in the village with many of them being hosted outside. All the events that we know of can be found on page 4. If you know a infallible sun dance, now is the time to start practising! Here ’ s hoping for a gloriously, sunny week- end in early June! In line with the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, this edition con- tinues our series of Coronation memories. We are delighted with the responses we had from our readers and it has been wonderful to read their recollections of that day in 1953. Sin- cere thanks to all who sent in their memories of the day. This is what makes helping to edit a community magazine like Buckden Roundabout so rewarding! As we move from one tax year into another, and one council year to another, Buckden Parish Council provide an update on what has happened in the last year as they prepare for the Annual Parish Meeting held in May. The Buckden Parish Council annual report can be found on pages 13 - 16 and is a great way to understand what your coun- cil does for you, and what it plans to do in the future. This month also sees the first article from our newly - elected District Councillor, Martin Hassall. It can be found on page 5. Please remember to visit the Roundabout website. As well as every edition from 2013 onwards available to see, there are often articles there that we could not fit into the print edition, as well as information that arrives during the month. The online edition of the magazine is in full colour: www.buckdenroundabout.info This month ’ s editor - Ian Carter Editor ’ s Page
