The committee has met on Zoom and we are working to have a flexible pro- gramme of speakers and activities ready for whenever it is possible to meet officially again. At the very least we hope to start with some garden get - togethers like last summer, as soon as the government green light goes on. Membership fees will be due in April, reduced for this year because of the circumstances. Ruth, our president, and Rosey, our treasurer, will be writing to every member with details. Not a member? Longing for the prospect of companionship and interesting meetings and events? You will be more than welcome to join our friendly and inspiring organisation. In normal times, we meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.30 p.m. at Buckden Village Hall, with occasional extra day- time ‘ at homes ’ or garden meetings. Contact Ruth on 07957 334 142 or Judith our secretary on 077 487 16709 for further details. Friends of Buckden Towers Despite the current restrictions, at FoBT we feel that we can begin to plan for the remainder of the year. For members, we have decided to postpone our AGM until the end of June when, we hope, Members will be able to come together. We are also planning to be able to allow any Members, who might still be reluctant to meet with others, to follow proceedings on Zoom. Other events open to all are: Heritage Day on Sunday, 12 th September 2021. Autumn Plant Sale on Saturday, 25 th September 2021 in the Towers grounds. Please keep an eye on the restoration work being carried out on the outer gatehouse. This should be finished by the end of March. At the Friends of Buckden Towers, we assist the owners in the upkeep of these unique buildings. You can join for a modest fee each year and be part of this valuable work.
