We are very grateful. We are looking for more photos and paintings of any kind that we could use as a front cover. We especially need photos and paintings of autumn scenes, and of events in the village. We should be grateful for photos (or even paintings!) of the coro- nation celebrations in the village. Please note that photos should ideally be in portrait format and should be a minimum of 2400 x 1700 pixels. More is better! Spring means that it ’ s time again for the FOBT plant sale. FOBT stands for the Friends of Buckden Towers , a voluntary organisation that helps raise funds to maintain our historic Buckden Towers. The Plant Sale has be- come a regular and very popular feature in May each year. It is held in the grounds of the Towers and attracts visitors from far and wide who come to take advantage of the wide range of plants on sale from professional growers and nurseries. More details on page 13. In this edition, Richard Storey continues his series of articles on local history. This month he is focused on historic windmills in or near Buckden, and two in particular: one is situated on the western side of the A1 just south of the roundabout and still exists—Mill Cottage, The other was at the southern end of the High Street and was a public or ale house called The Wind- mill. It was demolished some years ago to make room for the new flats. Finally, sharp - eyed readers will notice that we have just start- ed including news and features specifically relating to Didding- ton village. The Roundabout team has proclaimed for many years that we serve “ Buckden , Diddington and Stirtloe ”, so we are really pleased to include this Diddington news. You can find it on page 16 Please remember to visit the Roundabout website. As well as every edition from 2013 onwards available to see, there are often articles there that we could not fit into the print edition, as well as information that arrives during the month.
