November is a season of remembering: although it may be easy to forget the true story behind the fire-

in the pursuit of peace and justice.

Many will also wish to remember their loved ones who have died – whether recently or in years past –

November is a month of remembering, but remembering does not just mean looking backwards. It also

means looking around us at the present time, and looking at ourselves, and seeing the legacy of those

who have gone before us: their influence, their imprint on the world, and on the lives of those who knew

          and loved them.

It is a chance, too, to consider what our own legacy will be when we are gone: whether or not we be-

lieve in life after death and in the hope of heaven, we will seek to live out our days in such a way that

earth itself becomes a little more heavenly. Today, let us remember to say ‘thank you’ for all those who

have done that for us, for our community, and for our world.
