We would like to thank all our managers, who have adapted fantastically to all the new rules and extra requirements we are asking of them. And, of course to our parents and players for being so supportive and patient with us during this unprecedented time. Second Home Ground As our club continues to grow, this year we have needed to use a second home ground. We are hugely grateful to the Great Staughton Parish Council who have allowed us to use their playing field and look forward to playing games there over the coming season. Photographs Our annual club photography sessions, with Club Legends took place in October – all members of BJFC get individual photo- graphs each year as well as a team photo – thank you to The Scout Club for letting us use their facilities for the day! In reading the latest edition of the Roundabout, it might appear that the organisations within the village are all closing their doors and shutting up shop. I wish to announce an attempt to slightly resist that narrative, with the Buckden and Little Paxton Sur- geries Patients Association (BLPSPA) presently engaged in effort to restart our 200 Club. Earlier this year we decided to suspend the Club, because of health and safety concerns, but in the last few weeks our Committee has been delivering letters of invitation and membership forms within the villages. Can I encourage our former members to take up that invitation and once more become subscribers to the Club. In anticipating your positive response I want to thank you for your continued and much appreciated support, which in the past has allowed us to purchase vital items of equipment for our Surgeries. I wish to also take this opportunity to encourage other resi- dents to consider the idea of becoming subscribers to our 200 Club. Firstly, in tempting you to do so, I can mention the Draws for the Club, that occur quarterly, with a prize of £100, and also four further prizes of £25 each; and there are Special Draws in December and June, when bonus prizes can be won, that is £200 in December and £100 in June. We are in urgent need of new members, with our numbers having decreased this year. Finally, the annual cost of membership is £12. A second reason for deciding to take up a membership is the use of the funds so gained. The money raised by the Club is used to purchase items of equipment that support the efforts of the doctors and nurses working locally in our communities. From blood pressure monitors, to clinical trolleys, to check in screens, to pillows for examination couches, to Wi - Fi connec- tions, to maintenance of the automatic doors at the entrance to surgeries, the list is extensive. Dr. Newark, who is a member of our Committee, has expressed his appreciation of the gener- osity of our Community, in enabling our Committee to provide items that improve and benefit patient experience. As a foot- note can I add that these funds express a tangible recognition of the contributions of our local Health Care Teams, whose presence this year, even more than normal, has proved so im- portant to many of us. For anyone who wishes to access more information relating to the 200 Club, and/or wishes to be provided with membership forms please contact either myself, or Marjory Wain, the Ad- ministrator of the Club.
