As ever, we are very grateful. We are looking for more photos and paintings of any kind that we could use as a front cover. We especially need photos and paintings of autumn scenes, and of events in the village. We should be grateful for photos (or even paintings!) of the coro- nation celebrations in the village. Please note that photos should ideally be in portrait format and should be a minimum of 2400 x 1700 pixels. More is better! From torrential downpours and extensive flood- ing to quite balmy, sunny days. It almost feels like a bit of an Indian summer! The road between Buckden and Offord was unpassable for several days due to the severe flooding, and many more roads in the area were similarly affected. Not sure that bodes well for the upcoming winter. As you may have seen on social media, we have extended the deadline for our Christmas cover competition until November 1st. Since that decision was made we have received quite a number of additional entries, but we ’ d love to see a few more! We are moving into the season where there are a number of community events. First of those is the village service of Re- membrance held at St Mary ’ s, this year on Sunday November 10th. This is always a very well - attended event. If you want something smaller, an act of Remembrance will take place at the war memorial on Monday 11th November. There is also an article on Buckden War Memorial on page 21. The annual Christmas market and light switch on takes place on Sunday 24th November and is always a great event what- ever the weather. More details can be found on page 10. Please remember to visit the Roundabout website. As well as every edition from 2013 onwards available to see, there are often articles there that we could not fit into the print edition, as well as information that arrives during the month.
