9 Buckden Roundabout October 2022 For Your Diary MONDAY CLUB We are a social group of ladies who meet fortnightly at 2.30pm in the Millard Suite at Buckden Village Hall. At each meeting we either have a guest speaker or partici- pate in an activity of our own. If you have any questions or concerns, please do ring Jane Scott on 811468 or Betty Millard on 810087 Wellbeing Walks Huntingdon October 2022 You are welcome to join any Wellbeing Walks, which take aver- age of about an hour to complete at a comfortable pace. Routes have been carefully chosen, have been safety - checked, the leaders are trained, and your companions friendly! Suita- ble clothing and footwear are key to good walking, to match our oft - unpredictable climate and ground conditions. A small bottle of drinking water is also strongly recommended, to avoid dehydration. As far as October, is concerned, there is only one walk from the village – it is on Friday the 21st at 10 o'clock, from the car park at Buckden Marina. Details of the other seven walks appears in the new programme leaflet, copies of which have just been delivered to the Library and the Mayfield Surgery. Buckden Local History Society 5th October Religion in 18th Century England By Simon Clemmow By analysing 18th - century Church of England visitation returns, Simon explains whether the C of E ’ s pastoral provision was meeting the population ’ s needs at that time and how people responded, revealing interesting patterns of Anglicanism and nonconformity.
