As ever we are very grateful. We are looking for more photos and paintings of any kind that we could use as a front cover. We especially need photos and paintings of autumn scenes, and of events in the village. We should be grateful for photos (or even paintings!) of the coro- nation celebrations in the village. Please note that photos should ideally be in portrait format and should be a minimum of 2400 x 1700 pixels. More is better! It is not reaching the very hot temperatures we had in the first few days of September, but it is still in the mid twenties Celsi- us which is 6 or 7 degrees higher than the historical average. I am grateful to work in an air - conditioned office! I expected the hot/warm spell to be broken by the rainfall we had last Sunday - and that was some rainfall! At 3pm in the afternoon I had to put lights on so dark was it getting. And then, for about 20 minutes, I experienced rain, hail and wind for the ages. Driving down my road shortly afterwards it looked like a very localised tornado had swept through such was the debris and standing water. My poor dog, who is nor- mally quite indifferent to weather, was terrified by the huge hailstones hitting the front and back of the house simultane- ously! If you look across at page 2, you will see the details for our Christmas Cover competition! As well as seeing the winning entry on the cover of the December issue, there are some great cash prizes! There is still time to get your creative juices flowing as the deadline is not until later this month on Octo- ber 20th. The only real criteria we have is that it needs ideally to be portrait as it is for the cover. Things to look for in this edition are some quite alarming data from the Buckden Speedwatch Team (p4); news about the cycle path through Brampton to Huntingdon (p5); wildlife news about frogs and toads (p12); and an interesting article on the St Neots Paper Mill (p14). Please remember to visit the Roundabout website. As well as every edition from 2013 onwards available to see, there are often articles there that we could not fit into the print edition, as well as information that arrives during the month.
