This month the W.I. held an in - house meeting where we shared stories of our travels. There was a 5 minute time limit set which caused some amusement as ladies asked “ How many minutes have I got left? ”. It ’ s surprising how long 5 minutes is and no - one went over their allotted time. We heard about hornets in Austria, a mug that went travelling, strange coincidences, Maisie, the camper van that toured Aus- tralia, a return ticket from South Africa to the UK which never returned, an impromptu rendition of the Messiah sung in Ire- land, and a visit to Wintershall to witness The Life of Christ - a play placing you in the centre of an immersive theatre experi- ence. We also heard about a visit to the National Memorial Arbore- tum in Japan which honours the victims of the two atomic bombings on Japan during World ll. It was a very enjoyable evening hearing about members expe- riences when travelling and culminated in the competition for a souvenir being won by Denise Grant. Our next meeting will be on October 1st in the Village Hall and is a talk by John Gibson on the important work taking blood to where it ’ s needed. All are most welcome so do come along.
