There is something special about being able to see, feel and read a glossy magazine par- ticularly one as well produced as The Roundabout. We have all been bombarded with a load of statistics during lockdown. Many of these have been fairly depressing – the number of people affected by Covid19, the number of casual- ties etc. But an interesting and more positive one has been the reported increase in the number of people interested in prayer and attending (online) church services. I would encour- age you to have a look at ‘ Footsteps in Prayer ’ the initiative being run by Churches Together, reported on page 18 in this edition, and see if you would like to take part either by joining us in praying for our community, and indeed our nation, or the conversations around the Christian faith we are looking to hold in October - November. Because the Christian message is one of hope, of a God who has reached out to us in Jesus and cares for us and sticks with us no matter what life throws at us: ‘ I will never fail you or forsake you ’ as Jesus said to his disciples. As churches we were delighted to be able to work with the Parish Council and Friends in Deed in providing support to the village during lockdown. For many, life during lockdown was difficult and will continue to be so as we face a winter of uncertainty. If we can help, then please do get in touch either with me or one of the other ministers – Father Jim (St Hugh ’ s) and Rev Pam (Methodists).
