20 Buckden Roundabout September 2020 Cambridgeshire Libraries can now accept new referrals to a Revised Library@Home service. This service is not open to everyone, but is limited to Cambridgeshire Residents who fit a set of criteria: The service is for anyone who usually relies heavily on reading books or listening to audiobooks AND who is shielding or isolating due to age or health conditions un- der the current Covid - 19 Government guidelines. People accepted for this service will be contacted by a member of Library@Home team who will then arrange de- livery, to their door, of a bag of specially chosen books/ audiobooks. Book deliveries will be monthly (by prior ar- rangement) and previously loaned books/audiobooks will be picked up when new ones are delivered. New Distributors for the Roundabout As the Roundabout is back in print, we are looking for some new volunteers to join our team of distributors to deliver to the new Bloor Homes Lucks Lane development, preferably someone who has moved into the development. If you have some time to spare at the end of each month please email us on distribution @buckdenroundabout.info Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Appeal 2020 Shoe boxes will be collected in November. Operation Christ- mas Child is a worthwhile charity making a difference at Christmas, by giving shoe boxes containing small gifts to children in poor countries. Gift suggestions (no sweets or toothpaste please) Toiletries: Toothbrush, hairbrush, comb, hair clips, bar of soap, flannel, etc. No bottles or liquid items please. Educational Supplies: Felt pens, pens, pencils, pencil sharp- ener, eraser, colouring book, notepad, picture or puzzle book, chalk, pencil case, stickers, solar calculators, etc. Toys: Cuddly toy, doll, toy truck, skipping rope, yo - yo, ball, small puzzle, etc. Other items: Hat, scarf, gloves, sunglasses, hair accessories, wind up torch, jewellery set. Are you able to knit a puppet, soft toy, hat, scarf, gloves for a Christmas shoebox please? Patterns are available. Or make a bag, pencil case or puppet using your sewing skills or even make notebooks. Or do your own shoebox.
