Sue Baker - Maher who has come to live in the manse at Eaton Socon and will have 4 churches in her care. Due to the restrictions of Covid 19 her welcome service will take place on Zoom on 1st September. Please pray for her as she begins her ministry in these very strange circumstances. She will no doubt soon be intro- ducing herself to you, perhaps in the next issue of the Roundabout. Sadly, the chapel is still not allowed to resume a normal pattern of worship and fellowship activities but we hope to have a trial Sunday Service some time in September, under strict Covid regulations (i.e. distancing, mask - wearing, no singing: Church, but not as we know it!) The Methodists look forward to taking part in the BDCT ‘ Footsteps in Prayer ’ initiative in the week beginning 14th September, still active in prayer for the villages. Buckden Neighbourhood Watch Scam based on NHS Test and Trace service I have been informed of a scam involving the name of the NHS test and trace service. Any test under the NHS Test and Trace service is free If the NHS test and trace service contacts you, the service will use text messages email or telephone. All texts or emails will ask you to sign into the NHS test and trace contact - tracing website. If the NHS test and trace calls you by phone, the service will be using a single telephone number 0300 013 5000. All infor- mation you provide to the NHS test and trace service is held in strict confidence and will only be kept and used in line with the Data Protection Act 2018. Contact tracers will never: • Ask you to dial a premium rate number starting 09 or 087 • Ask you to make any form of payment or purchase a product of any kind • Ask for any details about your bank account • Ask for your social media identities or login details, or those of your contacts. • Ask you for any passwords or PINs, or you set up any passwords or PINs over the phone. • Disclose any of your personal or medical information to your contacts or provide medical advice on the treat- ment of any potential coronavirus symptoms. • Ask you to download any software to your PC or ask you to hand over control of your PC, smartphone or tablet to anyone else. • Ask you to access any website that does not belong to the government or NHS. The Scam The caller claims that there is a charge of £50 for the test and takes bank card details over the phone (card number, expiry date, name on the card and CVC code) giving the criminal all the detail they need to fraudulently use the card.
