Buckden and Little Paxton Surgeries Patient Participation Group We wish to invite you to attend our Annual General Meeting (A.G.M.). This is scheduled for the evening of Tuesday the 20th of September, at 7:00 P.M. and this year will be held at Buckden CE Primary Academy. Part of our A.G.M. will include a Presentation by two of our Partner General Practitioners, namely Dr. Nathalie Rodriguez - McCullough and Dr. Mina Rizkallah. Both doctors plan to discuss the current challenges facing G.P.s, which are many and various. There will be a business part of the Meeting. This will partly consist of the election of a new Committee, with us presently involved in an effort to recruit to our Committee. Light refreshments will be available. We further wish to mention that the Editors of the Rounda- bout have kindly agreed, in the future, to allow us space in this magazine on a regular monthly basis. Within these contributions we will be focusing on current events, with regards to our Surgeries and the local NHS, updating you on developments in both these sectors. Also, we would hope to provide an ongoing account of our journey to becoming a fully functioning Patient Participation Group (P.P.G.). As some of you may have noted we are using a logo which refers to our previous identity as a Patients Association, with a new logo a work in progress. The fundamental aim is to better represent the patients in our Surgeries and to actively work in partnership with G.P.s and Practice Staff in order to improve services for those patients. At the A.G.M. we would hope to report back on the progress made so far. There will be posters placed around the villages in order to advertise our A.G.M. over the course of the next few weeks. We look forward to meeting you on the 20th of September. The Valley—Buckden Village Hall Trust BVHT is launching a modest fund - raiser to ad- dress the challenges in the Valley during the cur- rent historic drought which is causing the quality of the water to deteriorate. We also want to create a wildlife refuge as our 1 st brood of ducklings is being terrorised by hungry gulls. Any donation, however small, will help. The Parish Council is also supporting our effort.
