We are very grateful. We are looking for more photos and paintings of any kind that we could use as a front cover. We especially need photos and paintings of autumn scenes, and of events in the village. We should be grateful for photos (or even paintings!) of the coro- nation celebrations in the village. Please note that photos should ideally be in portrait format and should be a minimum of 2400 x 1700 pixels. More is better! Bar- ry was always cheerful, always very supportive of the commu- nity and a major positive presence in the village. He ’ ll be missed. Condolences to his friends and family. We have a slightly larger Roundabout edition for you this month. After retirement, or at any time, men can feel isolated and their mental health suffers. Men don ’ t like to open up about mental health issues which makes things even worse. The “ Sheds ” movement seeks to combat this by providing a haven where men can meet, do useful things and have fun. We have two of these organisations locally, the Brampton Shed and the St Neots Man Cave. On page 13 we have a fea- ture about the former and fund - raising for the latter. In fact the St Neots Man Cave was one of the charities that benefitted from Buckfest 2023.The local music festival goes from strength to strength, with great music and a fantastic family atmosphere, while raising money for good causes at the same time. This year was a little wet, but that didn ’ t seem to daunt too many, and people turned out in droves deter- mined to have a good time. And have a good time they did, as the photo spread on pages 14 and 15 show. You can also find how to donate directly to the featured charities there. Finally, don ’ t forget our Christmas cover competition with cash prizes. We are looking for artwork in any medium includ- ing photos suitable for the cover of our Christmas edition. There are categories for children and adults. The overall win- ner will be on the cover, but winners in all categories will re- ceive substantial cash prizes and recognition in the Rounda- bout. More detail can found on page 12. The closing date for entries is 20th October, so get snapping, drawing and painting (or embroidering, etching, creating that collage or whatever art medium takes your fancy). Please remember to visit the Roundabout website. As well as every edition from 2013 onwards available to see, there are often articles there that we could not fit into the print edition, as well as information that arrives during the month.
