As ever, we are very grateful. We are looking for more paintings of any kind that we could use as a front cover. We can photograph them if you only have original artwork. We are also keen to get images (photos or paintings) of the village and surrounding areas in prepara- tion for future issues. Please note that images should ideally be in portrait format and should be a minimum of 2400 x 1700 pixels. More is better! Fingers crossed that the case figures persuade the government to end the lockdown as planned. During the first lockdown, your Roundabout team did not feel able to continue to distribute printed copies of the Roundabout (although we continued to produce on - line editions through the lockdown). On this occasion, in consulta- tion with our volunteer distributors, to whom we are very grateful, we decided to continue with the printed magazines. This month, we continue with our quarterly wildlife feature written by resident expert Mark Ward. This month ’ s article is all about the amazing varieties of fungi that we can see in our village, particularly at this time of year. Mark ’ s piece is on page 15. Buckden Towers is a Tudor period building, with an amazing history. The Friends of Buckden Towers is a voluntary group that supports the Buckden Towers Estate and they report on page 14 this month. A note to our contributors and distributors to remember that our production dates are rather earlier than usual in Decem- ber (5th December) as we aim to distribute the January edi- tion before Christmas. We wish all our readers a merry, peaceful and safe Christmas, and hope that 2021 will be a much better year. Please remember to visit the Roundabout website. As well as every edition from 2013 onwards available to see, there are often articles there that we could not fit into the print edition, as well as information that arrives during the month: www.buckdenroundabout.info This month ’ s editor - Alec MacAndrew Editor ’ s Page
