We hope you and all your family are well and coping well through the crisis. On page 11 you will find con- tact details of organisations working together to help those affected by the lockdown. Your editorial team is discussing ways to get the Roundabout back in print and distributed once again to every home in Buckden, Diddington and Stirtloe. It will take a couple of months, but watch this space! In spite of the fact that we are on - line only, we have some excellent content for you this month. Wendy Trattner contin- ues with the story of Buckden School. This instalment starts with the passing of the Education Act in 1870 and covers the mid - Victorian period. It can be found on page 12. On page 14, Mark Ward continues his fascinating series of articles about Wildlife in Buckden, with wonderful examples of the diversity and richness of the wildlife we enjoy. He also makes a plea for verges to be cut less severely to encourage the growth of wild flowers and insects. If you have time on your hands, now is the perfect opportunity to get out and about and explore some the countryside around the village and appreciate the range of wildlife in our area. On pages 20 and 21 we have photospreads inspired by the Bunted Buckden theme, which were also boosted by the VE Day decorations. The enthusiasm with which people have thrown themselves into these community activities is a credit to the spirit of Buckden ’ s residents. Please remember to visit the Roundabout website. There are often articles there that we could not fit into the print edition, as well as information that arrives during the month: http:// www.buckdenroundabout.info/ This month ’ s editor - Alec MacAndrew Editor ’ s Page
