Repairs and Maintenance
Work has just been done on the heating system in the building to improve the heating efficiency in the build-
ing.
Half of the main Hall’s roof has had fresh insulation installed to stop the condensation leaks that have been
plaguing the Hall for some time.
The carpets in the main foyer and Millard Room have been professionally cleaned.
Dog Fouling plea
The Trust has recently received a complaint about the amount of dog poo left around the preschool. Please
can anyone walking a dog pick up its mess. There are plenty of dog poo bins around the field and dog poo bags
can be bought from the Parish Clerk in the office in the Village Hall.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH
KEEPING CHILDREN SAFE DISCLOSURE SCHEME
The Keeping Children Safe Disclosure Scheme (also known as ‘Sarah’s law) is a national scheme which allows anyone who has an
interest in the welfare of a named child or children to formally enquire whether an individual who has access to a child has a
record of child sexual offences and/or poses a significant risk of harm to a child. For example, a grandparent may enquire about
their son’s new partner who is living or staying in the same house as their grandchild.
If it is in the child’s interest for certain information to be disclosed, it will only be provided to the person most responsible for
the child’s welfare (usually parents, guardians or carers ). The scheme can be used to find out about all child-related offences
and information which is beneficial to disclose to protect a child from the risk of significant harm. This scheme does not replace
existing arrangements for vetting and safeguarding children.

Anti-social behaviour around the Village Hall
Buckden Village Hall Trust is receiving an increasing number of complaints regarding the behaviour of kids/teenagers who hang
around the Hall, especially near the main entrance. There have been instances of them deliberately disrupting events taking
place in the Hall. The police have been contacted and they will now be visiting the building on a more regular basis and monitor-
ing the situation—BVHT
