Cambridgeshire Police

Apparently Spring is coming and we should start smiling again

with the lighter evenings and the milder weather.

Since last month’s report I am pleased to say that this month

there is little to report in regards to crime in the area.

We have identified the three youths involved in the criminal

damage incident at the playpark, and due to their ages they

have all been given stern words of advice after a trip to St Ne-

ots Police station.

However, when one job ends another begins with several re-

ports of anti-social behaviour and one of criminal damage to

the cricket pavilion received in the last few weeks. There are

several groups of teenagers causing issues and being rude to

members of the village hall and their users. I have spoken to

several of these youths and I’m hoping this will be an end.

Although I sympathise with the youths of the village that they

have nowhere to go, especially during these cold evenings, it

does not give them the excuse to cause anti-social behaviour

and be rude to members of the public.

Lastly I felt quite privileged to be told by a member of the

community that I am on a Facebook page within the village,

apparently when I do the school parking patrol it is messaged

on the page so warning parents to park legally - perhaps I

should come undercover next time!

Please feel free to contact me, if you have any information, or

require any advice.

Spring

Nothing is so beautiful as Spring –

When weeds, in wheels, shoot long and lovely and lush;

Thrush’s eggs look little low heavens, and thrush

Through the echoing timber does so rinse and wring

The ear, it strikes like lightnings to hear him sing;

The glassy peartree leaves and blooms, they brush

The descending blue; that blue is all in a rush

With richness; the racing lambs too have fair their fling.

What is all this juice and all this joy?

A strain of the earth’s sweet being in the beginning

In Eden garden. – Have, get, before it cloy,

Before it cloud, Christ, lord, and sour with sinning,

Innocent mind and Mayday in girl and boy,

Most, O maid’s child, thy choice and worthy the winning.
