Huntingdonshire Health Walk Scheme
January 2020
Why not start the new year off with a health walk? On this
month's 4 Wednesdays at 2pm and 5 Fridays at 10am, a total
of 9 different routes will be followed out of the 30-or-so Hun-
tingdon Group walks. On the 10th and the 29th, we meet out-
side the Village Hall, where toilet and refreshment facilities are
available, as with most other health walk rendezvous. Walk
leaders are fully trained.
Health walks will suit anyone able to maintain an exercise-
walking pace for an hour-or-so. There are also 20-30-minute
walks from the Buckden GP Surgery on Thursdays from 10am.
Suitable clothing/footwear plus a small bottle of drinking water
are key accessories.
The "free" walk scheme, largely financed by council subsidies,
does encourage walkers' voluntary contributions; especially as
accident insurance cover is provided, plus a programme bro-
chure.
