Paxton Pits
The Huntingdonshire Local Group of the Wildlife Trust invites
you to participate in a guided walk at Paxton Pits on Saturday
July 13th 2019.
Paxton Pits Nature Reserve is well known for its flooded gravel
pits which attract a large number of birds. However, in addi-
tion, the site offers diverse habitats including meadows, grass-
land, scrub and woodland and is therefore attractive to a wide
variety of wildlife. So, in addition to the bird life, we can ex-
pect to see many insects including butterflies and dragonflies,
plus wildflowers and with luck the wasp spider.
The walk will be led by one of the reserve wardens and will
start at 10.30am. Everyone is most welcome to attend. Please
meet outside the visitor centre. GR TL199637 or PE19 6ET.
There is no charge, but donations are welcome. For more in-
formation please contact Alistair

Godmanchester Nature Reserve
The Huntingdonshire Local Group of the Wildlife Trust invites
you to participate in a guided walk at Godmanchester Nature
Reserve on Tuesday July 23
rd
2019 at 7.30pm.
Godmanchester Nature Reserve consists of 4 lakes which are
former gravel pits and therefore attracts a wide variety of
birds, particularly ducks, geese and kingfishers. There are also
areas of grassland and ancient hedgerow. We should see
plenty of butterflies, dragonflies and wildflowers and we will
also be on the lookout for bats at the end of the evening. We
will endeavour to provide bat detectors to aid identification.
Please meet at the reserve entrance at the end of Cow Lane,
PE29 2EJ, GR TL2639 7149. There is parking available, but it is
limited
.
Everyone is most welcome to attend. There is no
charge, but donations are welcome. For more information
