Parish Council Footpath maps, walks and other leaflets All the leaflets are available on our website. There is a foot- path map, an historic Buckden walk leaflet and seasonal guides to the Roundabout Buckden route. There is also a leaflet offering advice on tree planting and an RSPB one out- lining actions you can take to improve nature in your garden. Hard copies are available from the Village Hall reception area and in several village pubs and shops. We are aiming to add to our leaflets and the next one that will be launched soon is “ Talking Trees ” watch this space! Coronation of King Charles A big thank you to everyone for making the weekend such a success. In particular thanks to Sue at the Vine for producing the food, and the Village Hall for providing the venue, for the Seniors Tea Party, and to the many volunteers who made it run so smoothly. Also thanks to Alison at Saragusta for adver- tising all the events and working so hard to arrange the Tow- ers afternoon. The Community Vibrancy Grant was used to fund some of the activities and we will be looking to support further events later this year. The High Street Congratulations to the Vine on the redecoration which fits in so well with the rest of the High Street. We also wish Gilberts, the new butchers, every success in their new venture. Flood Wardens We have established a Flood Advisory Group to continue the work to reduce the risk of flooding in the village. We are still looking for people to join the group as Flood Wardens. Please contact the Clerk if you are interested. Councillors We have one vacancy for a Parish Councillor. If you might be interested, please contact the Clerk for more information. Council Meetings The next Council meeting will be at 7.00 pm on Tuesday 13th June. The meeting will include a 15 - minute open forum. If you want to speak at the meeting, please let us know what you want to say, by contacting the Parish Clerk. You will get a three - minute slot. The Council Planning Committee will also meet if required. Agendas for these meetings are posted on the Parish notice boards no later than the Saturday preceding the meeting. Strawberry Hill – June 2023 The Huntingdonshire Local Group of the Wildlife Trust invites you to come along to see one of the Trust ’ s newest reserves on Tuesday 6 th June. We will be taken on a guided tour of Strawberry Hill reserve by one of the Trust staff members. Strawberry Hill was originally an arable farm, but was left to rewild for 25 years by its previous owner. It is a 150 hectare site, the largest area of scrub and young woodland in the re- gion. It has become a brilliant place for wildlife with birds such as nightingale, willow warbler, garden warbler and turtle dove.
