Front Cover
The cover picture this month is of St Mary’s churchyard with
the Judas tree in blossom, and was provided by Tim Alexan-
der. As ever, we are very grateful.
We are looking for more paintings of any kind that could use
as a front cover. We can photograph them if you only have
original artwork. We are also keen to get images (photos or
paintings) of the village and surrounding areas in preparation
for future issues. Please note that images should ideally be in
portrait format and should be a
minimum
of 2400 x 1700
pixels. More is better!

May 2019
We are well into Spring now and this month’s edition is full of
upcoming summer events in the village, including the Towers
Plant Sale and Buckden Open Gardens. Now is a good time to
think about getting out and about, and there are two Health
Walk schemes advertised this month - the Huntingdonshire
Health Walk scheme on page 12, and walks organised by the
Buckden and Little Paxton Patients Association on page 17.
Another reason to get into the fresh air is provided by the
Huntingdonshire Flora and Fauna Society who introduce them
selves on page 16. If you are at all interested in wildlife do
check this out.
We have an inspiring story on page 10, where Molly introduc-
es her new powered wheelchair, Frieda. Frieda has allowed
Molly much more freedom to get around both inside and out-
side the home. Several Buckden community groups helped
with the cost of the wheelchair. It is cheering to see how
much Buckden residents are willing to volunteer their time to
support various schemes within the community.
Next month sees the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
If you, or one of your family or friends was involved and has
memories that they or you would like to share with us,
please get in touch as we are hoping to publish a feature on
the anniversary.
Finally, don’t forget the Parish Council’s photo competition—
for more details see the PC page. Get snapping.
Please remember to visit the Roundabout website. There are
often articles there that we could not fit into the print edition,
as well as information that arrives during the month:
