BUCKDEN WI
Our September meeting was very sociable as
we tried to remember who sang which song
during our fun musical quiz evening. Lots of
notices about future events. If you re interested
in joining a quiz team or a murder mystery
evening at HQ do contact Patricia Ford.
Diary dates: Our
annual meal
will be at The
Lounge Buckden Marina on
Tuesday 22
October,
6.30 for 7.00 pm. Cost: £19. Please
pay and make your choice of starter and sweet
at our next meeting.
Three theatre outings:
1) At the Key theatre in Peterborough. Come
and enjoy “
Carols by Candlelight
”.
13
December
. Price: £22 for coach from Buckden
and ticket.
2) Come to the Pantomime, “
Cinderella
” on the
afternoon of the
2 January
. Children welcome.
Also £22.
3) Theatre and meal trip to Hitchin to “

We need to know which trips you would like to
come on at by the next meeting which is on
Tuesday 1 October
at 7.30 pm in the School
Hall. We will be entertained by our speaker who
has chosen the title 'Dress to Impress'. The
competition is to bring an Elephant.( Not sure if
there is any link!) and the Market stall is for
things beginning with 'O'. You have been so
inventive in the things you have bought for
previous evenings and we have raised quite a
bit of funds for our social events.
As always visitors are welcome and trips are
open to anyone.

VILLAGE NEWS
www.buckden-village.co.uk
We are now receiving a large number of letters
from abroad, particularly from people who have left
the village and emigrated. Please take a look at
the letters page and the blog on the bottom of the
home page, as many ex-villagers want to make
contact with former friends and residents in the
village.
Clubs and Societies please remember that you can
publicise your events for the remainder of the year.
We can store multiple events in the calendar which
are then displayed on the right hand side of the
home page.
It’s a great way of making sure that people don’t
forget the date and time of your meetings and also
to let potential new members know about you.
If you want to contribute to the site or if you have
comments and suggestions please fill out the
feedback form (Blog) on the bottom of each page
or send us your thoughts via the Contact Form on
the main site menu.

In memory of Douglas Perkins
The family of the late Doug Perkins would like to
express our deep appreciation to those who have
offered such kindness, support and messages of

we are very grateful.
