Our local PCSO warns about thefts from cars at car parks of local beauty spots:

Now that the good weather has arrived more of us will be travelling to some of the rural beauty-spots we are fortunate enough to have within our area. Unfortunately most of these places are at fairly isolated country locations.

We are seeing an increase in Theft from Motor Vehicles whilst parked up at this type of location.

Just a reminder to always lock and secure your vehicles and never to leave valuables in the vehicle whilst it is unattended.

Only this week we have had reported two thefts from vehicles at Waresley Woods car park between Gt Gransden and Waresley where bags/wallets have been stolen containing cash, bank cards, mobile phones and multiple other items and fraudulent withdrawals have  subsequently been made from the card holders bank accounts.

I cannot stress more strongly that if you are going to park your vehicle in any car park that is isolated or where there is no form of security TAKE ANY VALUABLES WITH YOU AND DO NOT LEAVE ANY VALUABLES ON VIEW INSIDE THE VEHICLE OR IN THE BOOT (offenders may be watching you place valuables in boot).
