Huntingdonshire Health Walk Scheme

Huntingdon Group October 2016

This month, the group offers a choice of eight

Wednesday(afternoon)/Friday(morning) walks: one of

them, on the 14th, starts at the Village Hall Car Park

at 10am, the `Buckden Village' walk.

If you haven't seen the health walk brochure detailing

upcoming walks, our volunteer walk leaders will pro-

vide one. New walkers will also be offered an ID-card

and an Incentive-card (plus details of a `privilege' pur-

chasing scheme for outdoor-activity clothing).

Walkers are encouraged to carry a drink, especially in

the summer, and to wear fairly-protective footwear

and clothing. Health walks are easy-paced, risk-

assessed, and are about an hour long: our walkers

appreciate the benefits of the moderate exercise and

pleasant company (with refreshment facilities after-

wards, usually).

For further info., including walk details and maps,

please browse the website**, or 'phone Doug Finlay-

son (acting Sports Development Officer [Health]) on

01480 387047.
