Prayers for our village and the wider world

Never a day goes by without people praying about the

cares of the world and the needs of individuals. At St

Mary's the door is open every day and a New Year's initia-

tive has been to fix the time for weekday prayers at 2.15

pm (see page 8). There is a box for prayer requests on the

table in the South East corner of the nave and these are

included in this prayer time. Anyone who would like to

come and join in is warmly welcome.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the

many cards and messages of sympathy received by us in

our recent sad loss of Tom our Dad. The presence of so

many friends at the Funeral Service was very much appre-

ciated and shows what a special person Tom was to every-

one. Special thanks to the Reverend Pam Siddall for con-

ducting the Funeral Service. The support and kindness

shown by family, friends and neighbours in the Village has

been overwhelming. Thank you.

From the family of Tom Swepstone

Thank you to everyone who attended the MAGPAS Fund-

raiser on 2nd March at Park Road. Over £500 was raised

that afternoon. A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who

came and all of you who have kindly supported this bril-

liant charity. A special thank you to Mary Perkins for al-

lowing us to take over her house.

Many thanks, Patricia Ford.
