FRIENDS OF BUCKDEN TOWERS
The Friends held their annual social evening
on 25
th
October. Dawn Cox from Wood Green
Animal Shelter gave an informative and enter-
taining talk on the history and present work of
Wood Green. Most people know it for its work
in re-housing pets, but it also provides veteri-
nary care and fostering. It is particularly active
in promoting animal welfare.
As usual there was an excellent spread of food
for the social part of the evening, I think some
of our cooks should enter ‘Bake Off’.
Thanks to all those who supported the event
and helped raise funds to will go towards
planned refurbishment work at the Towers.
Our next event is on
14
th
March 2014
when
we will be holding our usual, and very popular,
Quiz Night – guests and members, all wel-
come.
