Huntingdonshire Health Walk Scheme
October 2019
The new Sep 2019 - Feb 2020 brochure, just out, covers 30 of
the group's walks. In October, there are five Wednesday and
four Friday walks at 2pm and 10am respectively ; the approxi-
mately one-hour walks are trained walk-leader-led.
The walk on the 11th is from the Village Hall, and there is a
*new-ish walk on the 16th from Abbots Ripton.
Health walks are fine for anyone able to maintain an exercise-
walking pace for up to 75 minutes. Suitable clothing and foot-
wear plus a small bottle of drinking water are key accessories.
The scheme, largely financed by council subsidies, values vol-
untary walker contributions; accident insurance cover is provid-
ed. Refreshment and toilet facilities are normally provided at
the chosen rendezvous.
Please note that there are also 20-30-minute walks from the
Buckden GP Surgery every Thursday from 10am.

MONDAY CLUB
We are a social group of retired ladies who meet fortnightly
at 2.30pm in the Millard Room at Buckden Village Hall.
We enjoy a cup of tea as we chat and participate in a raffle.
At each meeting we either have a guest speaker or partici-
pate in an activity of our own.
