Buckden Roundabout

September 2019

For Your Diary

What is the BLPSPA?

Apart from a mouthful of an acronym. In fact it is one of

those almost invisible village organisations that actively con-

tributes to our sense of community. Did you know your Pa-

tients Association fund raises and is then able to provide

thousands of pounds to our surgeries, which is then used to

purchase vital pieces of medical equipment? Did you realise

it runs and co-ordinates a transport scheme, which enables

patients to attend appointments in Buckden and Little Pax-

ton? Also, were you aware our Association organises educa-

tional events within the villages, focussing on important

health issues such as prostate cancer and womens’ health?

We are now needing new officers, with both our chair and

transport co-ordinator planning to step down in September.

May we invite you to attend our A.G.M., to be held on the

24

th

of September, in order to support the valuable work

undertaken by the Buckden and Little Paxton Surgeries Pa-

tients Association.

To find out more about the posts of Chair and Transport Co-

ordinator please contact either:

Did You Know…?

About 80% of plastic pollution found in oceans begins its jour-

ney in inland waterways*.

How about joining us to help stop some of that plastic reaching

the sea? The Buckden Community Litter Pick is a friendly group

who meet regularly to help collect some of the rubbish dumped

in the lanes and ditches around Buckden. Our local hostelries

kindly provide refreshments at the end.

We’re meeting next at

The Lion Hotel

, Buckden
