How you can help Buckden Village Hall when buying Christmas presents online

As you know Buckden Village Hall Trust is a charity and it costs a lot of money to maintain and repair this

building. Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday

– you could be raising money for Buckden Village Hall Trust? There are nearly 3,000 retailers including Ama-

zon, John Lewis, M&S, Aviva and Tesco who will donate a percentage of the amount you spend to Buckden

Village Hall Trust to say thank you for shopping with them. It’s really simple and doesn’t cost you anything. All

you have to do is:

1. Go to

www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/buckdenvillagehall

2. Sign up for free

3. Get shopping! Your donations will be collected by easyfundraising and automatically sent to us!

There are no catches or hidden charges and Buckden Village Hall Trust will be extremely grateful for your do-

nations :o)

Don’t forget that as residents of Buckden you all receive discounted rates on Hall hire. Please call or

email me if you would like to find out more.

2016 has been a very busy year for us at Buckden Village Hall. Thank you to everyone who has used us in

the past year and to all of you who will use us in the future.

Have a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2017!

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH (NHW)

LOCAL CRIME

The past month has seen more vehicle damage - particularly breaking off wing mirrors. Cambridgeshire Police are

warning motorists to be vigilant when it comes to protecting their vehicles this winter as the longer nights draw in.

There have also been burglaries in the village with jewellery stolen.

DON’T LEAVE DEFROSTING CARS UNATTENDED

The latest figures from the stolen vehicle recovery provider show that instances of vehicle theft increase by up to

25 per cent in the colder months. While it can be inconvenient to sit in our cars and wait for the windows to clear

on these frosty mornings, please don’t be tempted to leave your cars unlocked and with the engine running as this

is a huge temptation for opportunist thieves.

At the same time for safety reasons it is important to fully de-ice windscreens and not just clear small patch for you

to see out of, you need to be able to see fully what is around you in order to stay safe on the roads ,
