Village Festival
A massive thank you to everyone who came along to the
Village Festival Weekend! Despite the rain shower, Satur-
day was a great day. Thank you also to the Village Festival
Committee for organising the fantastic event – especially
Philip Miles who has once again done a tremendous job.
Thank you also to everyone who bought raffle tickets. This
year we are raising money to replace the blinds and some
chairs for the Hall.
From 2012 to 2018 the raffles have raised a massive
£15,000! This money has been used to refurbish the pavil-
ion, put up new fencing around the children’s playground,
install free Wi-Fi in the Village Hall complex, 5-a-side area
cleaned up and new fencing erected and a new mower.
The raffle provides financial security to the Buckden Village
Festival which, as well as raising funds for the Village Hall
Trust, allows village groups to raise their own funds and
provide lots of enjoyment for all the village.
Thank you Buckden!
CCTV
The Village Hall building and surrounding area are covered
by CCTV cameras.
Have a great summer everyone!
Don’t forget that as residents of Buckden you all receive
discounted rates on Hall hire. Please call or email me if
you would like to find out more information
BUCKDEN WI
Our July meeting was party night.
The committee provided scones,
jam, cream and strawberries and
also served the tea. Some members
provided their own drink to make it more of a social
evening. We all enjoyed eating and socialising with each
other. It was a relaxing evening before our Summer
break. We were entertained by “The Merrymakers” a
local choir who provided an informal concert for us with
songs, sketches and facts from 100 years ago, as we are
celebrating our Centenary this year in October. This was
much enjoyed by all and we are looking forward to their
next visit.
At the next Meeting, Tuesday 3rd September 7:30pm in
the Millard Suite at the village hall our talk will be
Aware, Alert, Alive: Self - defence for gentle people led
by Jeanette Moser.
Everyone is warmly welcomed.
The competition is a handy hint for keeping safe.

New distributors for the Roundabout
The Roundabout magazine is delivered round the
village by a dedicated team of volunteer distribu-
tors. We now need new distributors to supplement
the existing team. Distributors typically deliver to
between ten and 60 houses. If you’d like to contrib-
ute to the success of the Roundabout, and you have
an hour or so to spare once a month, please get in
touch. We are a friendly team who also meets so-
cially a couple of times a year. Please contact the
distribution co-ordinators at
