Huntingdonshire Health Walk Scheme

February 2020

Trained walk leaders will lead eight different health walks this

month from the thirty-or-so assigned to the group. The walks

are on Wednesdays at 2pm and Fridays at 10am. On the 7th

and the 19th, we shall meet outside the Village Hall, where

toilet and refreshment facilities are available, as with most oth-

er health walk venues. For more information, please see be-

low.

Health walks will suit anyone able to maintain an exercise-

walking pace for an hour-or-so. There are also 20-30-minute

walks from the Buckden GP Surgery on Thursdays from 10am.

Suitable clothing/footwear plus a small bottle of drinking water

are key accessories.

The "free" walk scheme, largely financed by council subsidies,

does encourage walkers' voluntary contributions; especially as

accident insurance cover is provided, plus a programme bro-

chure.

For details, please access the website

www.huntingdonshire.gov.uk/healthwalks, or contact the

health walk coordinator on 01480 387047,

email activelifestyles@huntingdonshire.gov.uk

We are a social group of ladies who meet fortnightly at

2.30pm in the Millard Suite at Buckden Village Hall.

At each meeting we either have a guest speaker or partici-

pate in an activity of our own. We then enjoy a cup of tea

and biscuits, and participate in a raffle.
