Huntingdonshire Health Walk Scheme

June 2019

The group now has almost 30 safe walks, led by trained lead-

ers. They are on Wednesdays at 2pm and on Fridays at 10am,

excluding Bank Holidays and Christmas/New Year. Please

check the website for details

So June has 8 walks, that on the 14th being from the village

hall, There are new walks on the 5th and 7th which start at

2pm and 10am respectively. On the 12th and 21st, the Black

Bull Pub rendezvous is 32 Post Street, Godmanchester, PE29

2AQ.

Anyone who can walk comfortably for up to 75 minutes at ex-

ercise pace will be welcome. Suitable clothing and footwear

plus a bottle of drinking water are important accessories.

The subsidised scheme includes accident insurance cover, so

voluntary contributions are welcomed. Refreshment and toilet

facilities are usually available at the various rendezvous.

MONDAY CLUB

We are a social group of retired ladies who meet fortnightly

at 2.30pm in the Millard Room at Buckden Village Hall.

We enjoy a cup of tea as we chat and participate in a raffle.

At each meeting we either have a guest speaker or partici-

pate in an activity of our own.

Visit to Old Weston Garden Farm

Tuesday 18th June

Old Weston Garden Farm is part of the National Garden

Scheme. A 9 acre small holding with an intricate kitchen

garden and an orchard. £6.00 per person to include a cup of

tea and a piece of homemade cake, booking highly recom-

mended. Meet at the Methodist Church at 1.00pm. This is a

self-drive/car share

The garden shed in Silver Street will be open from 10-11am

on Sunday the 9th & 23rd June for members to buy essential

gardening supplies.
