April weekend bookings at theHall included theGardeners’ SpringShow, a retirement party, awedding recep-
tion, JivenitesWeekender, aToraseishin grading afternoon and a children’s party. During theworkingweek
wewelcomed theBloodDonors, theA14ConsultationTeam, andhosted4 training days.
I am pleased to say that our weekendbookings are increasing. Currentlywe have only1 full weekend free in
each of May, September, October andDecember and 2 freeweekends inAugust. There is still space for
more bookings, but it is encouraging to see the calendar filling up. Wehave also booked2weddings for 2015.
Comments from clients include ‘this is the nicest hall we have lookedat’, ‘very prompt response to questions’,
‘well-organised’, ‘helpful team’. So – if youare looking to book for 2014, please get in touch soon.
TheFoodFair attractedawide variety of stall holders.We hadbaked goods - breads, cakes, baklovas biscuits
- fresh flowers, bake and cookware, meats, cheeses, olives, fresh vegetables, preserves, chutneys and condi-
ments. Sadly, we didnot have the number of visitors to the stalls that we had hoped for. It was disappointing
for us, as organizers, and thosewhohad taken time to bake, prepare, drive, set up and sell. Having said that,
most of our stall holderswould come back, andwe plan another near Christmas. It would begreat to seemore
of our villagers at the next one. So, if you came – thank you – andwe hope to seemore of you at thenext one.
I still needmore interest fromolder residents if we are tobe able to run exercise classes, asmen-
tioned in lastmonth’s article. Pleasedon’t be shy – there are a rangeof classes available, andHDCare
interested inmeeting residents to seewhat wouldbemost suitable. Pleasedoget in touch if you are at
all interested.
