Buckden Tennis Club
Buckden Tennis club is located behind the village hall, next to the playing fields. We welcome people of all ages and abilities,
whether you are an experienced player, want to get back into tennis or just fancy taking up the game!
Our 4 all-weather hard-courts are open 7 days a week, all year round, with floodlighting to county standard. We have club tour-
naments throughout the summer. September is a busy month with the Maurice Pepper Mixed doubles on 2nd September, the
Knock Out Finals on the 9th September and the Albert Dudley (Vets) Tournament on 23th September. We also have mens, la-
dies and mixed teams competing in Hunts & Peterborough Summer League after great success in the Cambs summer
league. We’re always looking for new team members so please let us know if you’re interested in joining us.
Social Play is a great way to meet up with other members and takes place on Saturday and Sunday mornings and Wednesday
evenings. All members are welcome – no one is left out. The courts are free to members to use at other times if they wish to
arrange their own games.
For those looking to brush up their skills or learn new techniques, LTA licensed coaching is available for adults and juniors
through Over and In. Please contact our coach Matt Sanders (matt@overandin.com). Coaching is available on 1:1 basis & group
sessions can also be arranged.
For more information about the club contact our Chairman Clare Fraser on 07740456972, or visit
our website at www.buckdentennis.org.uk, or our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/buckdentennisclub

Weekly Training Sessions For U7s-U11s Who Are Not In A Team
Next season, BJFC is hoping to start up a weekly training session on a weekday evening for all children from U7 to U11 who wish
to play football but are not registered with a team. We get quite a few parents asking whether their child can join a certain age
group but most of our teams are well subscribed and therefore cannot take on any new players, even just for training.
However a weekly training session dedicated to these potential players might be just the ticket, even if they have never been
involved with a team or even trained in a group before. This would be a great opportunity to train without the commitment
that belonging to a team requires, whilst it can also be a great stepping stone for any players who choose to join one our teams
when places become available as squad sizes increase every 2 years and/or some players leave.
There would be no commitment on the part of the players or parents/carers, just a weekly fee of £3 to help cover the cost of
equipment and as a contribution to the day-to-day running of the club.
However, we would need volunteers to run this enterprise
(qualification courses would be paid for by BJFC)
.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact: Michael Lander (07912 346481
